Tampa Bay, FL — [11.7.25] — Andrew Pickett Law is proud to announce that a Hillsborough County jury has awarded $9,075,000 to the family of Mitchell Menes, a 32-year old man who was tragically killed in a 2022 car crash caused by an impaired driver in Ybor City. The verdict was delivered in the Thirteenth Judicial Circuit in Hillsborough County following a week-long trial.

The case centered around allegations that the defendant operated his vehicle while under the influence of alcohol and traveling at a high rate of speed through the Ybor City area before colliding with the vehicle driven by Mr. Menes, resulting in his death.
The jury’s award of $9,075,000 includes compensation for past and future pain and suffering suffered by Mr. Menes’s parents, Beth Butler and Miguel Menes, who brought the wrongful death lawsuit on behalf of their son’s estate along with punitive damages.
